7 Things you need to know about a diastasis:

  1. Healing a diastasis is all about healing the connective tissue holding the outer abdominal muscles together and then strengthening all 3 layers of the abdominal muscles.
  2. Doing traditional abdominal exercises such as sit ups, crunches and pilates 100's actually make a diastasis larger and will prevent healing for as long you continue to do these exercises.
  3. A diastasis can be healed no matter why you developed it or how long you have had it for....it will take longer and will require persistence if it is large and if you have had it a long time.
  4. Pregnancies make this condition worse so please close the gap before your next pregnancy!
  5. You can begin the Tupler Technique®  program during pregnancy to help prevent a diastasis, reduce pregnancy discomforts and learn an effective pushing technique.

I absolutely still recommend contacting a professional to learn exactly how to implement the program week by week and make sure that you are doing all the exercises correctly.
